This is a Glenfarclas Family Cask single malt, distilled on 21 September 1966 and bottled on 27 February 2007 after 40 years in cask. It is a Speyside whisky.
It matured in a sherry cask, number 4177, and was bottled at its natural strength of 51.5%. The edition is limited to 514 bottles.
The nose is fresh and well preserved, with warm toffee caramel and a gentle sweetness. The palate is full and spicy, with dried fruit and a subtle touch of tannic oak. The finish is long and warm, balancing a slight astringency with sherry and soft spice.
