Glenfarclas – Heritage (70cl, 40%)

Glenfarclas Heritage is a Speyside single malt from the Classic Range, matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks. It carries no age statement and is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill-filtration. The sherry sweetness is fruity, set against a lighter, malty character rather than only dark fruit. On the nose come fruity sherry, fruit tea, fresh barley and soft oats, with an oily note. The palate is medium-bodied, with citrus, light nuttiness, spicy liquorice and freshly ground coffee over a gentle sweetness, rounded by sherry and fine vanilla. The finish is medium in length and soft, with delicate sherry notes.
