First-fill Oloroso sherry butt
This is the fifth and final release in Glenfarclas's Decanter Series, which ran to five decanters over five years, one for each generation of the Grant family. It comes from a single first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, cask 933, and is presented in a Glencairn crystal decanter. The whisky was distilled on 11 April 2011 and bottled on 30 June 2026 at a natural cask strength of 60%, with natural colour. Fifteen years is the age Chairman John Grant calls his favourite in the range. Raspberries, oranges and tangerines lead the nose, over dark chocolate and brown sugar. The palate is creamy and oily, with dates, pecans and caramelised apples. The finish is very long, with liquorice, black pepper and sherried Seville oranges.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
