Glenfarclas Vintage 2012 is the first release in the Trinity Vintage Series. This Speyside single malt was distilled in 2012, matured for twelve years entirely in Oloroso sherry casks from the Bodega José y Miguel Martín, and bottled in 2024 at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
Because Oloroso casks were used throughout, rather than for a finish alone, they shape the whole profile, from dark fruit to nut, chocolate and spice.
The nose has raisins, dates and prunes with nutmeg, dark chocolate and roasted nuts. The palate brings toffee, honey and dark caramel, ripe berries, leather, tobacco and a touch of oak. The finish is long and warm, with lingering sweetness, spice, dark chocolate and cinnamon.
