Glenfiddich 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for twelve years in Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks. The casks are then vatted together in oak tuns before bottling at 40%, in a 70cl bottle. This edition has a revised presentation. The malt is chill-filtered and has colouring added. Glenfiddich was begun by William Grant in Dufftown in 1886, and the distillery remains family run.
Pear is the central note on the nose, with fresh fruit and delicate orchard blossom. The palate shows sweet fruit, butterscotch, creamy malt, vanilla and light oak. The finish is long, soft and mild, ending slightly sweet.
