Glenfiddich – 15 Year Old Perpetual Collection Vat 03 (70cl, 50.2%)

Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Vat 03 is a Speyside single malt from the Perpetual Collection, bottled at 50.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was developed for international travel retail. It brings together whisky from American oak, new American oak and European sherry casks in a large solera vat. Each time the vat is bottled from, only half is emptied and then refilled, so part of the earlier whisky stays and mingles with the new. Colour has been added, and it is not chill-filtered. The nose shows heather honey, vanilla fudge and pronounced dark fruit. The palate is silky and full, with sherried oak, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger. The finish is rich, and its sweetness lasts.
