Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera is a Speyside single malt aged in European oak sherry casks and new oak casks. The whisky is then mellowed in the distillery's Solera vat, a large oak tun inspired by the sherry bodegas of Spain and Portugal, which has been kept half full and never emptied since 1998.
The nose offers heather honey, vanilla fudge and rich dark fruits. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with sherry oak, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger, and the finish is rich with lingering sweetness.
