This is an 18 year old single malt from the Glenfiddich distillery, Superior Reserve, supplied in a gold decanter. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is round, rich and perfumed, with roasted apple, honey and blood orange, then fruit cake, cinnamon and firm but elegant oak. The palate is silky and dense, with dates, raisins, dark chocolate, candied caramel, ginger and nutmeg.
The finish is very long and warm, ending with a dry touch from Jerez oak and a gentle spiciness.
