This is Glenfiddich's 21 Year Old Gran Reserva, a single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is finished for four months in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. The Reserva name returns to the 21 year old after a few years under other titles, with new packaging.
Tropical fruit and spicy ginger reflect the influence of the rum casks. The nose is oaky, with fruit and sherry notes. The palate is complex and woody, with a floral sweetness. The finish is very long, honeyed and warm, with apple, pear, wood polish and dark chocolate.
