Glenfiddich 21 Years Gran Reserva is a Speyside single malt that finishes its maturation in casks which previously held Cuban rum from Sancti Spiritus. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The Malt Master checks the casks regularly to judge when the 21-year-old has developed its character. The colour is deep gold.
The nose brings sweet vanilla, banana, figs, toffee, leather and soft oak. On the palate come lime, ginger and sweet spices with a hint of smoky wood, followed by a long, spicy finish with touches of oak.
