Glenfiddich – 29 Year Old Grand Yozakura (70cl, 45.1%)

Glenfiddich Grand Yozakura is a 29-year-old Speyside single malt, released in 2022 as part of the distillery's Grand series. It is bottled at 45.1% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in American and European oak, then finished for six months in casks that previously held Awamori, a Japanese distilled rice spirit made from long-grain indica rice. In the tasting notes the colour is deep gold. The nose is zesty with ripe fruit and caramelised almonds, alongside rich oak, cinnamon and a herbal edge. The palate offers toasted oak, creamy vanilla toffee and silky tannin, with bursts of spice, sherbet lemon, crunchy green apple and earthy warmth. The finish is long and oaky.
