This is a 30 year old Speyside single malt from Glenfiddich, distilled in 1976 and bottled in 2006 at 47% in a 70cl bottle. It is a private cask bottling for La Grande Epicerie in Paris, from a European oak sherry hogshead, cask 16392. Only 243 bottles were released.
The original certificate describes a bronze colour. The nose is rich fruit cake, almonds, walnuts and spiced oak in vanilla sweetness, with hints of leather and ground coffee.
The palate starts rich and spicy with sweet, sherbety flavours, then moves to subtle nutty oak, mouth-coating tannins and a silky texture.
