Project XX is the second release in the Glenfiddich Experimental Series, a Speyside single malt without an age statement, bottled at 47% and non-chill-filtered.
Twenty brand ambassadors each chose one cask from the warehouse, and Malt Master Brian Kinsman composed the final bottling from them. The selection brought together port pipes, sherry butts and first-fill bourbon casks.
The nose offers apple blossom and ripe pear with vanilla, oak and golden brown sugar, plus a hint of liquorice. The palate is candy floss sweetness, toasted almonds and cinnamon with a crisp tannic edge. The finish is long and sweet, shaped by lingering oak.
