Glenfiddich – Fire & Cane

Fire & Cane is a single malt from Glenfiddich in Speyside, released as part of the distillery's Experimental Series, in which Malt Master Brian Kinsman shares his trials. It starts from a notably smoky base, an unusual direction for a distillery not known for peated whisky. The spirit matured for a long period in American oak and was then finished in ex-rum casks, which add a rum influence to the flavour. The nose is smoky, with spice and fruit. On the palate come oak, toffee and green fruit. The finish stays smoky, with notes of baked apple.
