This is a 21 year old Speyside single malt from Glenfiddich, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in oak casks and then finished in Caribbean rum casks.
The rum finish adds toffee, brown sugar and a tropical note, alongside the orchard-fruit character of the distillery, with ginger and lime giving lift.
The nose is rich, with ripe banana, baked apple, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla and warm spice. The palate is creamy and full, with caramelised sugar, dried fruit, nutmeg and ginger. The finish is long and warming, with sweet spice, oak tannin and a molasses-like richness.
