This is Glenfiddich Pure Malt Old Special Reserve, a blended malt from the 1980s. It is pale straw in colour. The nose is expressive and grainy, with a slight smokiness at first. Bold notes of mashed potato and boiled milk follow, then grass, with whiffs of violets and lilac. On the palate the attack is good: very grainy, grassy and dry.
