This Glenfiddich is a 36 year old single cask from an American oak hogshead, bottled at a cask strength of 51.8%. The whisky was distilled on 13 April 1979 and bottled on 18 August 2015, with an outturn of 186 bottles.
It belongs to the Rare Cask Collection. The nose is robust oak with subtle vanilla, spice and old tobacco leaf, followed by ripe green apple and mandarin. The palate is deep and rich, with warm barley sugar sweetness, soft fruit, ground ginger and fresh nutmeg. The finish is long and lingering, with oak tannins and a light sweetness.
