Glenfiddich Special Old Reserve is a single malt Scotch whisky from the 1980s to 1990s, an expression that comes from before the distillery's range moved to age statements.
It shows the Glenfiddich house style of that period, with a lighter Speyside character that is clean and well balanced.
The nose is fresh and fragrant, with pear, green apple, citrus peel and dry grass. On the palate it is soft and mellow, with vanilla, dried apple, toffee and a little spice. The finish is lightly fruity, with a hint of chocolate and oak.
