Glenfiddich – Straight Malt 8 Year Old 1960s (76.9cl)

Glenfiddich Straight Malt 8 Year Old is a single malt in the triangular bottle, here in a 26 fl oz size. It dates from before the global roll-out of 1963, having first been introduced in Scotland in 1961. Its colour is pale, like white wine. The nose is of fresh walnuts and almonds, soot, argan and olive oils, linseed oil and a good deal of smoke, with riesling and old roses. The palate has cider apples, propolis sweets, cough sweets and resins, then walnuts again, a little cardamom and soft curry. The finish is candied, resinous and waxy.
