Glenfiddich – Triple Oak

Glenfiddich Triple Oak is a single malt matured in three types of oak: American oak, European oak that previously held sherry, and virgin French oak. The virgin French oak is what sets it apart. Casks of this kind are rarely used for whisky, as they are more usually found in winemaking. Once charred, they add spiced and vanilla notes, along with toasted almond, crème brûlée, ginger and woody spice. Bringing the three casks together gives a whisky described as complex, soft and fruity, with a pleasant spiciness.
