Glengoyne – 12 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

A 12 year old single malt from Glengoyne, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery is classed as Highland and sits about 20 miles north of Glasgow, on the Highland line, while its warehouses stand across the road in the Lowlands. It is a small distillery with a limited production. The colour is old gold. The nose is led by apples in many forms, from dry cider to russet, with peaches, apricots, malted milk biscuits and floral honey. On the palate it is clean and fresh, with mead, stewed and green apples, cider and a grassy cereal note. The texture is dense and chewy.
