Glengoyne – 12 Years (70cl, 43%)

Glengoyne 12 Years is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle, matured for at least twelve years at 43% ABV. The whisky is drawn from three kinds of cask: European oak ex-sherry casks (20%), first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks (20%) and hand-selected refill casks (60%). The sherry wood adds intensity and richness, while the first-fill bourbon casks bring fresh citrus and vanilla. The spirit is distilled slowly, at around five litres a minute. The nose offers lemon peel, caramelised apples and coconut. The finish carries sherry, soft oak and cinnamon.
