Glengoyne – 1997 Chateau Palmer Wine Cask Finish Special Edition (70cl, 45.3%)

This is a special edition Glengoyne single malt from the Highlands, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2012. It was first matured in ex-sherry casks, then finished in Chateau Palmer wine casks. It is bottled at 45.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery describes a rusty gold colour. The nose brings apricots, cream soda, apple pie, wine gums, fresh ginger and an earthy note. On the palate there are cinnamon stick, gingerbread and bitter orange. The finish is ginger beer with honeycomb and lemon peel.
