Glengoyne – 21 Years (70cl, 43%)

This is a 21-year-old Highland single malt from Glengoyne, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. All 21 years were spent in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks made from European oak. Glengoyne dates its roots to 1833 and sits just north of Glasgow, on the edge of the Highlands. It uses only unpeated malt. The nose offers red apples, toffee, sherry and spiced apple strudel. On the palate there is plenty of sherry with honey and oak, and a pleasant note of cinnamon develops. The finish is long, with sherry and spice, and ends dry.
