Glengoyne 21 Years Old is a Highland single malt matured entirely in European first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The long maturation brings ripe fruit and dark sweetness together with spicy oak. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and no chill-filtration.
Glengoyne traces its whisky making back to 1833, and the distillery is owned by Ian Macleod Distillers.
The nose offers red apple, spiced strudel, toffee, sherry, dried fruit and fruit cake. On the palate, sherry, honey and oak lead, with cinnamon towards the end. The finish is long, sherried, spicy, warm and dry.
