Glengoyne – Balbaine (1L, 43%)

Glengoyne Balbaine is a Highland single malt from the Spirit of Oak collection, in a one-litre bottle at 43% ABV. Sherry maturation gives it an intense, spicy character. Each bottling in the collection has its own distinctive cask maturation. Glengoyne uses unpeaded barley, so the delicate aromas of the whisky are not overpowered by heavy peat smoke. Whisky has been made on the site for over 200 years, at first illegally, and the distillery was officially founded in 1833. Ian Macleod Distillers bought it in 2003.
