Glengoyne – Legacy Chapter One (70cl, 48%)

Glengoyne Legacy Chapter One is the first bottling in the Legacy series, which celebrates the beginnings of the distillery's established character. It is a Highland single malt at 48% in a 70cl bottle, matured in Oloroso sherry casks. The release honours Cochrane Cartwright, manager in 1869, who is known as the father of the distillery's mellow spirit. Glengoyne dries its barley without peat, saying the delicate flavours would otherwise be overpowered by heavy smoke. The distillery was officially founded in 1833, after years of illicit whisky-making.
