Glengoyne – White Oak (70cl, 48%)

This is a Glengoyne single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 48% ABV. The distillery stands on the border between the Highlands and the Lowlands. It is matured only in first-fill bourbon casks and virgin oak casks from North America. The casks were charred for less than a minute, to leave the natural character of the whisky to come through. It won gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the International Spirits Challenge in 2024. The nose is lively, with wood, citrus, unripe banana, plum and a touch of violet. The palate is very soft, with crème brûlée, apple pastry and pineapple, and a hint of star anise. The finish is long, with delicate citrus and lingering oak.
