This is a Glenkinchie Distillers Edition, a Lowland single malt distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2004 at 43% abv. It was double matured in Amontillado sherry wood.
Glenkinchie is known for a light, grassy, floral character, and the Amontillado finish was chosen to complement that rather than overpower it.
The palate is malty, with nutty notes of pecan and roasted almonds, and floral, crisp grape undertones. It is a fuller, more textured take on the Glenkinchie style.
