First fill STR oloroso-seasoned butt
A 17-year-old Speyside single malt from Glenlivet, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2024 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 2.140, under the name Calorific Nonchalance. 611 bottles were filled. After 14 years in an ex-oloroso butt, the whisky was moved into a first fill shaved, toasted and re-charred oloroso-seasoned butt for the rest of its maturation. The nose offers sticky toffee pudding, vanilla ice cream, plums stewed in pine resin and grapes pressed into honeycomb. On the palate come figs with balsamic glaze, ginger cheesecake, malted milk biscuits, fruit leather and sweet soy beef jerky. With water, it turns to mandarin sponge cake, custard and orange blossom.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
