Glenlivet – 1948 Gordon & MacPhail (75cl, 40%)

A Glenlivet single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1948 and bottled in the 1980s by the Elgin independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. Glenlivet from the late 1940s had become slightly less peaty after the years just following the war, while keeping an oily, fruity complexity. It is described as an old-style whisky of a kind no longer made today.
