This is a Glenlivet distilled in 1970 and bottled at 41 years old by Duncan Taylor for its Octave series. It has a strength of 46.1%.
After more than 40 years in cask, the whisky was given a three-month finish in a Sherry Octave cask, which adds a creamy quality.
The nose offers almond, mint and pear. With time in the glass, blackcurrant, gooseberry, a hint of lime and toffee come through. The finish is long and intense, and well harmonised.
