This is a single cask Glenlivet, distilled in 1977 and bottled in 2006 after 28 years of maturation. It was released by James MacArthur's in the Old Masters series, at a natural cask strength of 53.6% abv in a 70cl bottle. James MacArthur built a reputation in the late 1980s and 1990s for choosing individual casks from well-regarded Scottish distilleries, and this bottling continues that approach. Nearly three decades in the cask is said to add depth and concentration to the elegant, fruit-driven style associated with Glenlivet.
