This is a single cask Glenlivet, 31 years old, from 1979 and bottled for Mackillop's Choice. It is a single malt of gold colour.
Honeydew, mead, sweet malt and overripe apples lead on the nose. On the palate there is liquid honey and high-end cider with a touch of sour wood, fresh, fruity, herbal and zesty. With water it turns more malty, with grass, leaves, peelings, tobacco, menthol and some liquorice. The finish is long and even maltier.
