Glenlossie – 1982/2022 Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection (70cl, 60.2%)

This is a Glenlossie single malt from Speyside, distilled on 26 October 1982 and bottled on 8 November 2022 by Gordon & MacPhail. It matured for four decades in a single refill American hogshead, and 125 bottles were filled at a cask strength of 60.2%. It belongs to the Private Collection, in which members of the Urquhart family choose single malts of particularly long maturation. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Rose, lily and lilac sit alongside grape, apple and berries on the nose, with toasted almonds and cloves. The palate is full-bodied, with peach, blackberry jam, mango and oak spice, then milk chocolate with whole nuts. The finish is long and fruity.
