Glenrothes – 11 Year Old 1989 (70cl, 43%)

This is an 11 year old Glenrothes single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2000 at 43%. It comes in a 70cl bottle. Glenrothes was long regarded as an ideal component for blended Scotch and became a key part of brands such as Cutty Sark and Famous Grouse. That link with Cutty Sark led to a three decade association with the London wine merchants Berry Brothers & Rudd, who first approached Highland Distillers about licensing the Glenrothes single malt brand in 1983. Berry Brothers took full ownership of the brand from Edrington in 2010 by trading the Cutty Sark blend, and the brand was reunited with the distillery in 2017.
