Glenrothes – 18 Years Soleo Collection

Glenrothes 18 Years is a Speyside single malt from the Soleo Collection, a series named after the sun-drying of grapes for sherry in Jerez. Sherry notes run through the range, which uses a high proportion of oak-matured whisky with first-fill casks at its core. The distillery stands on the Burn of Rothes, and its spring water comes from the nearby Glen of Dounie. The nose brings orange oil, vanilla pods, pear and almonds. The palate is sweet, with ginger, rose water, pear and vanilla. The finish is sweet, sharp and lightly peppery.
