Glenrothes – 2007 11 Years Old No. 26 Vintage Casks Mossburn (46%)

This is a Mossburn bottling of Glenrothes single malt from Speyside, 11 years old. It was distilled in 2007 and matured until 2019, then bottled at 46% as part of the Vintage Cask range. It shows a less sherried side of Glenrothes. The nose is fruity, with dried apricot and cherry despite the absence of sherry casks, alongside soft malt. On the palate come shortbread, peanut brittle and sultanas, with a little pepper at the edges. The finish is buttery vanilla with a hint of sponge.
