Glentauchers – 1990/2022 31 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice (70cl, 49.8%)

This Glentauchers is a Speyside single malt distilled in 1990 and matured for 31 years in a refill American hogshead. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it in 2022 for Connoisseurs Choice, from single cask 12488, which gave 172 bottles at a cask strength of 49.8%. It comes in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose offers freshly pressed apple juice, juicy pear and creamy toffee. On the palate, juicy pineapple, mango and papaya come first, followed by a little pepper and roasted almonds. The long finish leaves a hint of star anise.
