Own an entire cask of Glentauchers single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 2008 and quietly maturing in a bonded warehouse in Scotland. A rare opportunity to own a complete 16-year-old Speyside bourbon barrel, held in bond and ready to continue maturing, be bottled to your own specification, or held as an appreciating asset. Glentauchers is a low-profile Speyside distillery long prized as a keystone malt for Ballantine’s, and official bottlings remain scarce – making a full private cask a genuine collector’s proposition.

Tasting notes

Nose: Wood shop must with shavings of oak and cedar giving way to cinnamon and vanilla spice, warm Danish pastries and Chantilly cream, with a touch of mango and caramelised pineapple sprinkled with orange zest.

Palate: Expressive and complex. Juicy fruits intertwine with soft spices – mango, nutmeg, pineapple, melon and vanilla with lychee and cinnamon. Creamy custard on coconut cake with a touch of dark chocolate bitterness.

Finish: Creamy and clinging, the dark chocolate bitterness fading through soft baking spice and barley water.

This is a private bottling: a single malt bottled privately by its owner, not an official distillery release.

How cask ownership works

This cask is sold in bond, meaning it is stored in an HMRC-approved bonded warehouse in Scotland with UK excise duty and VAT suspended until the whisky is bottled or removed from bond. Owning a cask in bond lets you continue maturing the spirit, bottle it to your own specification, or simply hold it as an asset – with no duty or VAT payable while it remains in the warehouse.
