Glentauchers – 2008 The Octave Cask Strength (70cl, 54.2%)

This is a Glentauchers single malt distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2021 at a cask strength of 54.2%. It comes in a 70cl bottle, with an outturn of 87 bottles. The whisky was matured in ex-sherrywood octave casks, the small format that brings the spirit into close contact with the wood. The nose is described as apple pie and custard, raisins, gooseberries, white chocolate and peaches. After time in the glass it turns to sweet sherry, ripe strawberries, salted caramel, juicy grapes and milk chocolate.
