This is a 12 year old Glentauchers from Duncan Taylor's Single Cask Collection, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in July 2009, matured in a single sherry cask and bottled in March 2022 at a cask strength of 54.7%, giving 727 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose combines juicy raisins and berries with sweet roasted malt and a touch of pineapple. On the palate it recalls a tart of maple syrup and pecans, with puff pastry, plump sultanas and candied orange. The finish brings caramel, barley, dates and apricot jam, with a light peppery spice.
