First-fill Bordeaux red wine barrique finish
A 14-year-old Glentauchers single malt, distilled in February 2009 and finished for its last 20 months in a freshly emptied first-fill Bordeaux red wine barrique. It was bottled from a single cask in May 2023 at 50% by LongValley Selection, the independent range of the Swiss Langatun Distillery, in a 70cl bottle. The edition is 329 bottles, natural colour and non-chill-filtered. The Bordeaux finish brings cherries, dark berries, raisins and red wine notes, with chocolate and nougat adding depth. The nose has cherry syrup, blackberries, strawberries, malt sweets, chocolate and oat biscuits. On the palate, wine-soaked raisins, sweetened redcurrants and black cherries meet fresh bread, nougat cream and cinnamon. The finish is long, with woodland berries, light cinnamon and gentle oak spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
