Type
Single Malt Whisky
Age
27 years
This is a Glenugie single malt from the 1977 vintage, bottled at 27 years old for the Celtic Heartlands series. The series is a collaboration between the independent bottler Murray McDavid and Jim McEwan, who was then master distiller at Bruichladdich. Glenugie was a Highland distillery that mainly supplied malt for the Long John blends. It closed in 1983 after an oversupply of whisky in the 1980s and has since been dismantled. Its stock and brand name belong to Chivas Brothers, and official bottlings have been very few.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
