GlenWyvis – 2018/2022 Batch 2 (70cl, 46.5%)

This is the second batch from GlenWyvis, a Highland single malt distilled in 2018 and released in 2022. It was bottled at 46.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was filled into 23 casks: first fill Tennessee whiskey casks for a complex sweetness, Oloroso hogsheads for rich fruit, and refill Scotch whisky hogsheads, which bring out the fragrant, spicy character of the new make. The distillery uses local Concerto barley and ferments for around 96 hours before distilling. The nose offers soft white grapes moving into a jammy sweetness. On the palate come vanilla custard, sherbet and pear drops. The finish begins with dark chocolate and leaves lingering summer berries.
