GlenWyvis – Vintage Distillation 2019 (70cl, 46.5%)

This is a Highland single malt from GlenWyvis, a community-owned distillery, distilled in 2019 and bottled in 2023 at 46.5%. It is batch 01/19, with 12,000 bottles in the batch, and is the distillery's third release. A fire in the fuel store of the biomass boiler in late 2019 halted production and cut that year's volume sharply. The whisky combines winter and summer barley of the Concerto and Laureate varieties, fermented for 120 hours and distilled in short-necked, wide-based stills. Three casks shape it: red wine adds black fruit and spice, Muscat brings floral and citrus notes, and a single Marsala cask gives sweetness. It is a complex, delicate, youthful whisky.
