Gold Bar Blend 117 is a 16-year-old blended whiskey made as a special edition in honour of the American football player Joe Montana. The bottle draws on his throwback 49ers jersey and carries a San Francisco 49ers overstrip with his signature. The name refers to his total of career regular season wins.
The whiskey blends American bourbon with Canadian rye, aged for at least 16 years, then finished in Cognac barrels and toasted oak staves. It is bottled at 90 proof, or 45% ABV.
It is described as having notes of dried fruit, spice and apricots.
