Gold Bar Rickhouse Cask Strength 103 is a straight bourbon from the Gold Bar Spirits Company of San Francisco, bottled at 103 proof (51.5%) and non-chill-filtered. It is made from a mashbill of 80 percent corn and 20 percent rye, triple distilled in copper pot stills.
The bourbon is matured first in extra charred new American oak, then finished with French oak staves. Hetch Hetchy water is used in the making.
The colour is deep ruby copper to mahogany. The nose brings smoky grilled meats and campfire with caramel, brown sugar, molasses and fresh coffee. On the palate it is medium to full bodied, with oak, coffee, chocolate, burnt sugar and warm spice, ending in a smooth, nutty finish of sweet vanilla bean.
