Goldrun Rye Whiskey (75cl, 45%)

Goldrun Rye Whiskey is a 100% rye whiskey from Old World Spirits in Belmont, California, bottled at 45% in a 750ml bottle. Founder Davorin Kuchan, a third-generation distiller from a Croatian eau-de-vie background, ferments organic white rye from North Dakota with Champagne yeast over seven to ten days. It is double-distilled in a 110-gallon hand-hammered copper alembic and aged for a minimum of one year in new charred American oak from Minnesota. The nose is fresh-baked rye bread, yeast, warm rye cereal and honeysuckle. On the palate come doughy bread, biscuits, honey, marmalade, fresh persimmon and soft spice. The finish is clean and lingering, with cinnamon, vanilla and honey.
