This is a single cask Glen Spey from Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice range, a Speyside single malt distilled in 2008. It matured for 15 years in a single refill American oak hogshead and was bottled in 2023 at natural cask strength.
It is light golden straw in colour, with a medium-bodied, silky mouthfeel.
The nose brings green apple, lemon curd, toasted oats, soft vanilla and gentle floral blossom. On the palate there are creamy malt, ripe orchard fruit, honeyed cereal, lemon zest and subtle wood spice. The finish is medium to long and warming, with lingering citrus, soft oak and delicate spice.
